Uliger
Uliger
an epic heroic tale of the Buriats; among the Mongols it is known as an ul’ger. The uliger is performed by a skazitel’ (singer) to the accompaniment of the khuur, a Buriat folk instrument. An uliger consists of from 150 to 25,000 lines in verse. More than 250 uligers are known, almost half of which have been recorded. More than 15 uligers have been published.
