Strakonice

a city in Czechoslovakia, in the Czech Socialist Republic, South Bohemia. Situated on the Otava River, a tributary of the Vltava. Population, 18,700 (1973). Strakonice produces motor vehicles, including motorcycles, and textiles, for example, worsted fabrics and woolen articles. The city also has a milk cannery and a brewery.
