Pittsburghia

(religion, spiritualism, and occult)

Pittsburghia, asteroid 484 (the 484th asteroid to be discovered, on April 29, 1902), is approximately 32 kilometers in diameter and has an orbital period of 4.4 years. Pittsburghia is named after the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The asteroid’s unusual name led to its inclusion in The Asteroid Ephemeris: Dudu, Dembowska, Pittsburgh, Frigga, Batya Stark and Mark Pottenger’s tour de force of astrological humor.
