Thermal Abrasion

the combination of processes of thermal and mechanical destruction of the shorelines under the effect of wave action on parts of the shoreline that are composed of frozen rocks containing a large amount of ground ice. Other factors that determine the intensity of thermal abrasion are water temperature and the energy of the wave action, which are the main conditions for the erosion and removal of the loose material composing beach scarps.
