Stockwell, Tony
Stockwell, Tony (b. 1969)
(religion, spiritualism, and occult)Anthony Stockwell was born on February 20, 1969, to Pat and Keith Stockwell. He was born in Walthamstow in the East End of London, England. When he was four years old, the family moved to Canvey Island, Essex, where he attended school. On leaving school at age sixteen, Stockwell attended his first meeting at a Spiritualist church and knew instantly that he had found his calling.
Stockwell took a job in sales at age seventeen, but continued to study Spiritualism and to attend Spiritualist churches. One night he was confronted by the spirit of a young Tibetan monk who said that Stockwell had lived a previous life in Tibet and that the spirit world hoped he would fulfill his destiny of becoming a medium. He began to sit on a regular basis with trance medium Marcia Ford, whose spirit guide was Ta Po, a Tibetan monk. Ta Po introduced Stockwell to his own spirit guide, a ninety-two-year-old Tibetan monk named Zintar. Then, at eighteen, Stockwell was invited to be a part of an exclusive development circle. It was two years before he gave his first messages in public, but was very accurate when he did. In a later address at a Spiritualist church, there were some physical manifestations, with flowers being moved and levitated. Stockwell also started to do some very successful spirit healing.
At age twenty-one, Stockwell formerly dedicated his life to spirit. Over the next year, he started leading his own development circles. He taught development groups at the College of Psychic Studies in South Kensington, London, and in Wickford, Essex. He also began to have private sittings with people who needed to contact dead loved ones. Stockwell founded the Avalon Project with his life partner Stuart, to promote mediumistic and spiritual learning. In 2002, he was approached by fellow medium Colin Fry, who had a successful television program called 6th Sense. His production company wanted another similar program but with a younger, fresh psychic/medium. After a couple of successful pilot episodes, the production company
launched Stockwell as the Street Psychic. This was a success and was followed by Psychic School, where Stockwell taught people how to bring out their own psychic energies. On the heels of these successes, Stockwell was invited to America to do Street Psychic in San Francisco. He also made a number of guest appearances on Colin Fry’s 6th Sense and a variety of other television programs.
Stockwell has gone from success to success but never lost sight of the fact that he is doing a service to those who have lost loved ones. He has become one of the top British psychic mediums of modern times. He has taught for the Spiritualist Association of Great Britain and at the Arthur Findlay College at Stanstead Hall, home of the Spiritualists’ National Union.
