Location:On the southern end of Esther Island, 20 miles east of Whittier.
Facilities:Undeveloped.
Activities:Boating, fishing, hiking.
Special Features:Park includes two bays, Lake and Quillian. Quillian Bay remains relativelyundisturbed, while Lake Bay houses one of theworld's largest fish hatcheries. The hatchery is owned and operated by a non-profitcorporation, and tours of the facility are offered to visitors at nocharge. Fishing here is good, but sport fishermen should avoid gettingin the way of the daily operations of the hatchery. During commercialopenings the fishing fleet crowds the area and visitors are advised tostay clear of the nets and boat traffic. During the height of the fishrun, black bears can be seen near the hatchery.
