Susskind, David

(1920–87) television/stage/movie producer; born in Brookline, Mass. Forming Talent Associates in 1947 to package creative personnel, he produced live television dramas, like Armstrong Circle Theatre, during the 1950s, and Broadway plays, including Rashomon (1959). In 1958 he launched Open End, an issue-oriented panel television program, and he also produced films like Raisin in the Sun (1961). He continued to moderate discussion on The David Susskind Show (1967–86).
