Location:South east Texas. Accessible by US 59, 75, and 190; TX 105 and 150. Nearby cities/towns include Cleveland, Conroe, and Huntsville.

Special Features:Lake Conroe (22,000 acres) and Lake Livingston (82,600 acres); 128-mile-long Lone Star Hiking Trail; 3,855-acre Little Lake Creek Wilderness Area, which supports a dense population of the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker. The bald eagle is also found int he forest.
