Trubezh

 

(also Trubit’), a river in the Ukrainian SSR; a left tributary of the Dnieper. The Trubezh measures 113 km in length and drains an area of 4,700 sq km. It flows through the Dnieper Lowland and empties into the Kanev Reservoir. The bed has been canalized except for the estuary. The river is fed primarily by snow. The mean flow rate 12 km from the mouth is 3.7 cu m per sec. There is a dry period lasting 24–83 days. The river freezes between November and early January, and the ice breaks up between March and mid-April. The city of Pereiaslav-KhmeFnitskii is located on the Trubezh.
