run-through grade run-through grade A term used in the context of postgraduate education under the Modernising Medical Careers (MMC) programme. As originally envisioned, once a junior doctor began specialty training, he or she was to finish the specialty in which the training began, bypassing the mid-point selection of candidates for specialty training which had been in place in the pre-MMC (pre-2007) era. In 2008, some specialties moved away from the run-through model, and now follow an uncoupled training format. |
