Snezhnoe

a city (since 1938) under oblast jurisdiction in Donetsk Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Railroad station on the Sof-ino-Brodskaia line. Population, 100,200 (1975). Coal is mined in the vicinity of Snezhnoe, and the city has coal washery, a chemical machine-building plant, and the Snezhnianskremsta-nok Plant for the repair of machine tools. There are also enterprises of the food-processing and light industries. Snezhnoe has an evening mining technicum.
