talipes

(tal'i-pez?) [L. talus, ankle, + pes, foot] Any of several deformities of the foot, esp. those occurring congenitally. It may also be a nontraumatic deviation of the foot in the direction of one or two of the four lines of movement.

talipes arcuatus

Talipes in which there is an exaggerated medial arch of the foot. Synonym: pes cavus; talipes cavus

talipes calcaneus

Talipes in which the foot is dorsiflexed and the heel alone touches the ground. It causes the patient to walk on the inner side of the heel and often follows infantile paralysis of the calf muscles.
