Smith, Adrian D. Smith, Adrian D. (1944–)American architect who designed skyscrapers including the Burj Khalifa, in Dubai; Jin Mao Tower, Shanghai; and the Trump International Hotel and Tower, Chicago. The Burj Khalifa is the world’s tallest building. Smith was the design partner at SOM for the Burj Khalifa, which officially opened in 2010. With Gordon Gill, he designed the Masdar City Headquarters Building, in Abu Dhabi. |
