Sudoche
Sudoch’e
a lake in the Kara-Kalpak ASSR, in the Uzbek SSR. Lake Sudoch’e is 337 sq km in area and is situated in the left-bank region of the Amu Darya. It is fed by the Raushan and Priemuziak, branches of the Amu Darya. It is a freshwater lake, but toward autumn it becomes brackish owing to extensive evaporation. In summer the water reaches a temperature of 25°–27°C. The lake freezes in November or December, and the ice breaks up between late February and early April. Lake Sudoch’e is a spawning ground for fish.
