释义 | Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of ScotlandRoyal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotlanda body established by a Royal Warrant of 1908. An executive non-departmental government body financed by the Scottish Parliament through the Education Department of the Scottish Executive. It is overseen by a Chairman and nine Commissioners. It is charged with surveying and recording the historic environment of Scotland, compiling and maintaining a public record of the archaeological, architectural and historical environment and generally providing education in relation to its mission. The information collected relates to buildings, sites, and ancient monuments of archaeological, architectural and historical interest including maritime sites and underwater constructions.
