UTM
UTM
(1) (Universal Transverse Mercator) A two-dimensional system of identifying locations on the earth's surface. Unlike the longitude/latitude system, whereby a degree of longitude and latitude is only the same at the equator, the distance relationships in UTM are always uniform no matter where they are on the earth's surface. See georeferencing.(2) (Unified Threat Management) A stand-alone appliance or software that combines a firewall, antivirus, spam and content filtering as well as intrusion detection. See firewall, antivirus, antispam and IDS.
