Tetiushi

a city and administrative center of Tetiushi Raion, Tatar ASSR. Tetiushi is a landing on the right bank of the Kuibyshev Reservoir and is located 129 km below Kazan and 45 km east of the Bua railroad station on the Kazan-Ul’ianovsk line. Food processing and wood products are the principal industries. The city has milk, flour-milling, and meat-packing combines, a brewery, a fish-processing plant, and an asphalt plant. Educational and cultural institutions include a sovkhoz-technicum, a pedagogical school, and a museum of local lore. The city was founded in the 16th century.
