SMA connector(SubMiniature A connector) A threaded plug and socket used for coaxial cable and optical fibers. The first optical fiber connector to be standardized, bi-directional transmission requires two cables and two SMA sockets at each end. SMA is specified by the TIA as FOCIS-1.
