(ok'si-jĕn kon'tent) The total amount of oxygen carried in the blood; equal to the amount of oxygen carried by the hemoglobin in the red blood cells plus the amount of oxygen dissolved in the plasma.

oxygen content

The amount of oxygen in volume percent that is present in the blood at any one moment. Arterial oxygen content = (Hemoglobin x 1.36 x SaO2) + (0.0031 x PaO2).
