Stripping of Ingots

Stripping of Ingots

the separation of a steel ingot from the mold. The operation can involve either the removal of the mold from the ingot or the extraction of the ingot from the mold (Figure 1). Stripping is carried out in special sections of steel foundries with the aid of cranes or stationary strippers (machines). The latter are used mostly for the ejection of large ingots lodged in the mold.
