myeloperoxidase deficiency syndrome

(mī″ĕ-lō-pĕ-rŏk′sĭ-dās″) A relatively rare autosomal recessive immune deficiency in which phagocytic cells make inadequate quantities of myeloperoxidase (MPO). People born with deficient MPO may have an increased incidence of infectious diseases relative to the general population.
