A gene on chromosome 20q11 that encodes a transcription coactivator that interacts with nuclear hormone receptors, enhancing transcriptional activator activity. NCOA6 is involved in hormone-dependent coactivation of prostanoid, retinoid, vitamin D3, thyroid hormone and steroid receptors.
