Apple Watch Series 2
Apple Watch Series 2
Apple's second generation of smartwatches, introduced in September 2016 along with the iPhone 7. The Apple Watch models became Apple Watch Series 2 but with aluminum cases rather than stainless steel. The original Sport models with plastic bands turned into the Apple Watch Series 1.Although officially not called Series 2 models, the Apple Watch Edition changed to a ceramic case rather than gold plated, and a stainless steel Hermes model with a variety of designer bands was added. Also introduced was a water-resistant Nike+ model that features a sport band and Nike+ fitness app. Except for Series 1 models, all second-generation watches include GPS, a faster CPU and a brighter screen. However, all models feature the watchOS 3 operating system, which added numerous enhancements, including more watch faces. The OS is also faster and provides support for handwriting on the face of the watch. See Apple Watch and iPhone 7.
