Any of the functionally diverse proteins that have evolved by duplication, insertion and deletion of a common pool of structural units or modules—defined as consensus sequences containing conserved disulfide bonds. Mosaic proteins are involved in cell adhesion, migrations and embryogenesis, as well as in the coagulation, fibrinolytic and complement pathways.Examples
