Lamberg-Karlovsky, C. C. Lamberg-Karlovsky, C. C. (Clifford Charles)(1937– ) anthropologist, archaeologist; born in Prague, Czechoslovakia. A childhood immigrant to the U.S.A., he became a curator (1969–77) and director (1977) of the Peabody Museum while concurrently a Harvard faculty member. He specialized in prehistoric Mesopotamian and Indus Valley civilizations, particularly trade; he wrote Ancient Civilizations (1979) and reports of his extensive excavations at Tepe Yahya, Iran (1970, 1986). |
