Novoaleksandrovsk

a city (until 1971, the Novoalek-sandrovskaia stanitsa [large cossack village]) and administrative center of Novoaleksandrovsk Raion, Stavropol’ Krai, RSFSR. Population, 21,000 (1974).

The city is situated on the Rasshevatka River (Zapadny Manych River basin) and has a railroad station, Rasshevatka, on the Kavkazskaia-Elista line. There is a poultry combine, a food-processing combine, and a creamery in the city, as well as a winery, a brewery, two brickyards, and a branch of the Stavropol’ Clothing Factory. Novoaleksandrovsk has a people’s amateur theater.
