Bel’tirs
one of the ethnic groups living in the basin of the Abakan River, making up part of the modern Khakas people. In the 17th century they were under the rule of the Enisei Kirghizes, and, after the Dzungar khan withdrew the Enisei Kirghizes to Central Asia in 1703, they came under the rule of the Russian state.
