Kubena

Kubena

 

(Kubina), a river in Vologda Oblast, RSFSR. Its upper reaches are in Arkhangelsk Oblast, and it flows into Kubena Lake in the Severnaia Dvina basin. The river is 368 km long and drains an area of 11,000 sq km. It originates in the Konosha Upland. Where it enters the lake, it forms a broad delta. The average discharge in its lower course is 52.2 cu m per sec. The Kubena’s largest tributary (left) is the Siamzhena. The river is navigable and is used for floating logs. The city of Kharovsk lies along the Kubena.
