Size: 360 acres.
Established: Proclaimed on March 20, 1909. Headquarters is on 245 acres of tribal land adjacent to the Betatakin section; used by agreement of May, 1962. A right-of-way of 4.6 acres was granted to the National Park Service in 1977.
Location:50 miles northeast of Tuba City or 20 miles southwest of Kayenta, Arizona. Accessible via US 160, and then 9 miles on AR 564.
Facilities:Campground (é), picnic area, rest rooms (é), visitor center (é), museum/exhibit, self-guided tour/trail.
Activities:Camping, hiking, guided and self-guided tours.
Special Features:Monument preserves Betatakin, Keet Seel, and Inscription House, three cliff dwellings of the Ancestral Puebloan People. The monument is surrounded by Navajo Nation land.
