Krest Gulf

 

a gulf in the Anadyr’ Gulf of the Bering Sea, off the southern coast of the Chukchi Peninsula. The gulf cuts 102 km inland. Width at the entrance, 25 km; width in the middle, 43 km; maximum depth, 70 m. The coastlines are steep and mostly indented by bays and estuaries. The Krest Gulf freezes in winter. Tides are semidiurnal and have a range of 3 m.
