Narayanganj and Dhaka together make up the principal industrial region of Bangladesh. There are jute presses, cotton textile mills, and ship repair facilities. Nearby is the celebrated shrine of the Muslim saint Kadam Rasul.Narayanganja city in Bangladesh, on the Lakhya River, 15 km south of Dacca; the two cities form an urban agglomeration.
