Krasnyi Kut
a city (until 1966, a settlement), the administrative center of Krasnyi Kut Raion, Saratov Oblast, RSFSR. Located in the Trans-Volga Region on the right bank of the Eruslan River (a tributary of the Volga). Krasnyi Kut has a railroad station on the Saratov-Astrakhan line and is 117 km southeast of Saratov; a 151-km branch runs from Krasnyi Kut to Aleksandrov Gai. Population, 17,000 (1970). A steel framework plant, railroad transport enterprises, and a state poultry farm are there. A veterinary technicum and a civil aviation pilot school are also in the city.
Krasnyi Kut
an urban-type settlement in Antratsit Raion, Voroshilovgrad Oblast, Ukrainian SSR (Donbas). Located on the Miuschik River (a tributary of the Mius), 18 km from the Shterovka station on the Debal’tsevo-Likhaia line. A building materials combine and the Industriia Sovkhoz are there. Most of the inhabitants of Krasnyi Kut work in the nearby coal mines.
