Nobi
(Mino-Owari), a low-lying plain on southeastern Honshu Island, Japan. Area, approximately 1,800 sq km. The plain is composed of marine deposits and of alluvium from the Kiso River and its tributaries. The climate is humid, subtropical, and monsoonal. Numerous dikes, some as high as 10 m, protect the densely populated plain from floods. Rice, vegetables, and mulberry trees are cultivated. The city of Nagoya is situated on the plain.
