Millikin, Eugene D. (Donald)

(1891–1958) U.S. senator; born in Hamilton, Ohio. He practiced law in Denver, Colo., before he was appointed and then elected to the U.S. Senate (Rep., Colo.; 1941–57). Politically unknown before his appointment, he soon became recognized as a thorough conservative and isolationist. He espoused Colorado's irrigation needs while he was on the Interior Committee.
