Special Features:Park features the oldest standing building in Idaho, the Mission of theSacred Heart. The mission was built between 1850 and 1853 by the Coeurd'Alene Indians and Jesuit missionaries. The building has walls 18inches thick and was built entirely without nails. The Coeur d'AleneIndians still consider it their mission and return each year on August15 to celebrate the Feast of the Assumption.
