Medical Stations

Medical Stations

in the USSR, facilities designed to provide medical care at military quarters, pioneer camps, student construction-team locations, subway and railroad stations, and airports; for field troops, also called evacuation stages (battalion, regimental, and divisional medical stations). Under certain conditions (location at a great distance from a hospital or polyclinic), small groups of workers receive similar services at physician’s assistant stations or health stations. Physician’s assistant-midwife stations serve kolkhoz workers.
