Klubaši

advocates of a political tendency in Montenegro; its organized form was the People’s Club (Narodnyi Klub, hence the name), created in September 1906 by an opposition group of deputies of the Skupština. The Klubaši, who represented the interests of the trading and village bourgeoisie, tribal elders, officers, and civil servants, advocated some bourgeois-democratic reforms, friendship and alliance with Serbia and Russia, and the unification of all South Slav lands. From November 1906 to 1907 they headed a liberal government. In 1907, with the onset of a reaction, they were subjected to persecution. They unsuccessfully attempted to organize a coup in 1909. After the Balkan Wars of 1912–13 they were included for a time in a coalition government.
