Mold Core
Mold Core
the removable part of a casting mold used in the foundry industry; it shapes mainly the interior cavities of the casting. When the configuration of the casting model hinders its removal from the casting mold, the mold core is also used to shape the exterior parts of the casting. Mold cores have core prints, which are mounted on the supporting surfaces of the mold. Mold cores are produced in core machines from special core sand mixes, with subsequent drying or hardening, and also directly in core boxes.
