Nadenenko Dipole
(also wide-band horizontal dipole or cage dipole), an antenna consisting of six to eight parallel conductors located along the generatrices of a cylinder and making up a center-face dipole. It was proposed in 1935 by the Soviet scientist S. I. Nadenenko. It is used as a break-in antenna, mainly in the meter and decameter wavelength bands, for communications, broadcasting, and other purposes. The Nadenenko dipole has a low characteristic impedance (250–400 ohms). Therefore, its input impedance depends only weakly on the wavelength, and there is a good match between the dipole and its feeder.
