LOOPN
LOOPN (language, simulation, Petri net)A compiler, simulator,and associated source control for an object-orientedPetri net language developed by Charles Lakos at the University of Tasmania. In LOOPN, a Petri net is an extension of acoloured timed Petri net. The extension means firstly thattoken types are classes. In other words, they consist ofboth data fields and functions, they can be declared byinheriting from other token types, and they can be usedpolymorphically. The object-oriented extensions also meanthat module or subnet types are classes.
LOOPN has been developed over a period of about five years atthe University of Tasmania, where it has been used in teachingcomputer simulation and the modelling of networkprotocols.
