Kip, Arthur F. (Frederic)

(1910– ) physicist; born in Los Angeles, Calif. He taught and performed research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1939–51) and the University of California: Berkeley (1951–76). His achievements in solid state physics include studies of microwave resonance, cyclotron resonance in semiconductors and metals, and designing microwave linear accelerators.
