Khum
Khum
a large (up to 1.5 m tall) clay vessel used for storing water and food; it narrows toward the bottom and may or may not have a neck. Khumy were widely used by the peoples of Middle Asia beginning in the first half of the first millennium B.C. The upper part of the vessel was usually decorated with carving, an incised design, or bits of clay. Modern khumy have handles and glazed interiors.
