Logone
a river in Africa in the republics of Chad and Cameroon, left tributary of the Chari River (in the basin of Lake Chad). The Logone is formed by the confluence of the Mbéré and Pendé rivers. Length, 965 km (including the Mbéré). Below Bongor it is navigable during the rainy season (June to August). During heavy floods, some of the Logone’s waters flow through a system of channels into the Bénoué tributary of the Mayo Kebbi River (Niger basin).
