James Fred Rippy
Rippy, James Fred
Born Oct. 27, 1892, in Sumner County, Tenn.; died 1964. American historian.
Rippy was a professor at the University of Chicago from 1936 to 1958. He was the author and coauthor of a number of monographs dealing mainly with the history and policies of the USA in relation to Latin America. Although Rippy criticized individual American diplomatic actions, he attempted to justify the USA’s general Latin-American policy.
