Location:At the end of Farrington Highway (Highway 930) in Makua.
Facilities:Beach with lifeguard services, trail (2.7 miles), scenic lookout; no drinking water.
Activities:Shore fishing, board surfing and bodysurfing (for experts only),swimming (only during completely calm conditions in summer), hiking.
Special Features:Park features a mile-long sandy beach along a remote and wild sectionof the coastline. It is hot and dry here, with little shade. The park'strail is along the volcanic coast, with tide pools and natural stonearches along the way, and offers scenic views of the Makua coastline.Porpoises are sighted during the early morning hours from a point nearthe mouth of Kaluakauila stream. A large sea cave, Kaneana, is thelegendary home of Nanue, the shark man.
