Kemal al Molk
Born at the end of the 19th century; died in 1941. Iranian painter.
Kemal al Molk, who came from a family of painters, studied in Florence and Paris. He painted genre scenes. He played a significant role in the development of realist easel painting in Iran. Between 1910 and 1920 he founded a school for painting and sculpture in Tehran. His works, such as The Mirror Salon of the Shah’s Palace (1892) and Baghdad Fortune-tellers (1906), are in several museums, including the Museum of Fine Arts in Tehran.
