impulse-reaction turbine impulse-reaction turbine A form of turbine in which hot, high-velocity gases produce an aerodynamic force as an impulse force as they move the turbine blades in the direction needed to spin the turbine blades. In this type of turbine, there is a stator vane and a rotor blade arrangement whereby the base area is an impulse design and the top is a reaction turbine. |
