Howze, Hamilton Hawkins

(1908– ) aviator; born in West Point, N.Y. A West Point graduate, he directed the Army Tactical Mobility Board (1962) that developed a new doctrine of air mobility that U.S. forces tested in Vietnam during the 1960s. After retiring in 1965 he became an executive and later a consultant for the Bell Helicopter Co.
