Hull, Clark L. Hull, Clark L. (Leonard)(1884–1952) psychologist; born in Akron, N.Y. Educated at the Universities of Michigan and Wisconsin, he constructed an influential theory of behavior through research at Yale's Institute of Human Relations (1929–52). His theory identified the variables that intervene between stimulus and response, as outlined in his book, A Behavior System (1952). |
