 through his agent, Nathan C. Meeker, as a cooperative farm and temperance colony. Meeker was killed in the Ute uprising of 1879; his home is a museum. The city is the site of the Univ. of Northern Colorado and has a symphony orchestra, a theater, and an art gallery. Greeley also holds an annual rodeo.
